In Antigua and Barbuda the beach is just the beginning. With so much to do and see and cultural events all year long, your only challenge is deciding when to visit us. Sailing Week sees yachts from all around the globe arrive in English and Falmouth Harbours to race in the one of the world’s preeminent sailing events. Restaurant Week celebrates some of the destination’s best qualities – its food, its people, and its culture. For 14 days restaurants on-island, from fine dining to hole-in-the-wall food spots, offer lunch and dinner prix fixe menus. Antigua’s Carnival, the Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival, is almost two weeks of street parades, parties, beauty pageants, and calypso and steel band competitions, held during the last week of July and culminating on the first Monday and Tuesday of August. All of this and more awaits you in Antigua and Barbuda! Check out our destination website www.VisitAntiguaBarbuda.com for more information.

Is it one country or two?

A: Antigua and Barbuda are two islands, about 30 miles (48 km) apart, that make up one nation. Antigua is the bigger and more populous of the two islands with most of the hotels, shopping, activities and international airport. Barbuda is the beautiful, untouched sister-island, perfect for those seeking a tranquil getaway, laid-back luxury, and connection with nature.

How do you get to Barbuda from Antigua?

A: There are airlines, a ferry, helicopters and boat charters that take visitors between both islands. Contact your travel agent or the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority for more information.

What's something most Canadians don't know about Antigua and Barbuda that they should know?

A: Everyone knows Antigua and Barbuda has 365 beaches (one for every day of the year) but fewer know that the destination has great cuisine (Italian, French, Middle Eastern and Asian restaurants dot the island); is one of the most romantic islands in the Caribbean (you can easily get married there with no residency requirement for a marriage license); and is an up-and-coming wellness hot spot (there’s nothing quite like yoga at sunset on the beach!)
